In partnership with The City of Geneva Sustainability and Shade Tree Commissions the Ashtabula Soil and Water Conservation District is offering a two-part rain barrel workshop to the public.

We are offering food grade, clean 55-gallon poly closed-top barrels in "natural" color - which is light buff/beige, with a complete rain barrel converter kit
from Rain Brothers. The kit includes the downspout diverter, 31" flexible hose, 3/4" garden hose spigot, 3/4" drain plug with cap, rubber seals, and a winterizing cap for the downspout, along with the hole saws needed for installation. You can choose a kit for a standard 2"x3" rectangular downspout or for the larger rectangular 3"x4" downspouts, depending on what gutters you have installed.

You can choose just the kit, just the barrel, the DIY barrel and kit, or a barrel with the spigot and drain plug attached that's ready to be installed to your downspout.

Due to COVID restrictions, the first part of the workshop consists of a drive through rain barrel pick up at Geneva Materials, 7050 N Ridge Rd East (Route 20), Geneva OH 44041, on Friday April 30 from 8 AM to 5 PM and Saturday May 1 from 10 AM to Noon. MARK YOUR CALENDARS as there will be no notification sent to remind you of the pick-up date and time.

On Wednesday, May 5th at 7 PM, we will have a virtual workshop featuring how to install the barrel, care and maintenance, and the benefits a rain barrel gives to you and the environment. No way to watch a webinar? No problem! Let us know and we will provide an instructional brochure at the time of pick-up.

All rain barrel orders must be received by 4:30 PM on Monday April 19th, 2021. Payment must accompany your order. At this time, we only accept cash or check.
